Maria Spear M.Ed., Ed.S. has spent over 25 years in the education field as a college professor, a reading coach, and a teacher for grades 4-12 in both public and private schools. As an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University since 1993, Ms. Spear has taught specialized education courses in reading and literature. She has also given presentations at reading conventions across the country, and conducted professional development workshops for organizations such as the Southern Regional Education Board and the Broward County school system in Florida. Maria serves the International Reading Association as a guest reviewer for the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy.
Ms. Spear has co-written and published a book on study strategies for college students. She received her specialist degree in Reading and Varying Exceptionalities from the University of Miami, and her masters degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities from Loyola University, Chicago. Maria weaves together her talent and teaching experience to benefit teachers in meeting their goals by offering insights, strategic advice and educational counsel.
